rioja

Its part of the human condition that a person's taste evolves as he or she gets older. When I was young I used drink Esprit, a sweet fruity wine that made you horribly hungover but made you feel carefree and great, just like Lady Gaga (even her name sounds like vomiting)and other pop divas. Well, I have discovered the joys of Bonnie Raitt, and am intoxicated on the mature flavour and mellow after taste of her music. You can't beat a good red !

hothouse

This image started out as a whole lot of windows cut out of decor magazines. Well, its summer here with terrible humidity, the plants are all growing like crazy and of course, the geckos are getting braver and braver. That was my inspiration.

space race

Its been a bit of a dry spell collage-wise of late. After hours and days of shuffling pieces of paper around, I have decided to leave it alone and see what happens. One can't force creativity - just create an opportunity for it to appear!

dadacard

Sometimes simplicity can be effective. This work is part of an old games board manipulated to something hopefully more meaningful. As John Cage said - "Take an object, do something to it, do something else to it". Pretty much a dadaist approach to making art, and one that I wholeheartedly follow.

atcs

There is something special about working on a miniature scale , apart from the fact that they can be done quickly. I tend to approach them with nothing particular in mind and just see how they evolve with the bits and pieces I happen to find.

mmmodernism

At one point in my life I had access to a photocopy machine that I abused by shoving all sorts of paper through to create raw material for my collages. Not only did I become an expert at fixing paper jams but I also ended up with some great stuff to collage with. This is one of those pieces.

connected

Don't ask me what this is all about. I just did it. It's weird - make up your own mind.

Ray

Just a re-purposed image from a magazine as a tribute to the founding father of mail art - Ray Johnson.

bouquet

Don't you even see someone in the street that you'd like to connect with, give them a compliment or a surprise bunch of flowers, but lack the courage to do so. Here's a bouquet for you all.

the littlest birds

Maybe its my melancholic personality but I've discovered and am currently crazy for the music of the Be Good Tanyas. So sweet and soulful, they tear my heart each time I listen to songs like "the littlest birds", "1000 tiny pieces" and my all-time favourite, "Lonesome Blues".

Squall

We live in a summer rainfall area so the phenomenon of a storm blowing in from the sea is pretty common. We usually have rain over the holiday but we had a beautiful, pristine windless day for new year. Here's to a stormy new year.
